Corte Madera Chronicles

A group blog; a place to share photos, thoughts, stupid shit we find on the internet, whatever. Hopefully we'll get at least one post per day from someone, and not so many posts that it's too overwhelming. Have fun!

p.s- no one has been posting because we all assumed you hated us for making you watch Ep. III. ;)

I don't hate you. I hate George Lucas.

Seriously, I'm just no longer interested in the prequels. They don't count. They're not Star Wars. I just can't think of myself as being into something that includes the utter crap that is the prequel trilogy. I have to separate them in my mind.

Its interesting Josh, in some way you have the same problem as Anakin: attachment. I’m sorry you hated it that much. I never thought I would meet someone that cares more for Star Wars than I do myself. I won’t argue that the prequel trilogy is good, because in most ways it is not, but it did not ruin the original for me. Star Wars has never been perfect in my opinion; these latest movies have simply been less perfect.

As long as he does Indy 4.

I am bored with Pixar's Disney movies. Toy Story bored me. Toy Story 2 had funny pop-culture stuff, but so does Jimmy Kimmel. Bug's Life had a nice story, but that' because it was Seven Samurai. And it was boring. Monsters Inc was boring. Finding Nemo was boring. The structure is so perfect as tobe predictable -- but ultimately they're Diensy movies. Kids movies. Nicely structured Disney movies with Famous People voicing stuff and cheesy songs over them.

I know smart, otherwise interesting folks who called The Incredibles the best movie of the year last year. Huh? Yeah, it was neat to see superheroes being all super-heroey, but isn't that the equivalent of saying "Yeah, great special effects." The age of being impressed with computer animation just cause it's computer animation is over.

And I'm not interested in the ultra-vanilla, midwest approved kid shit that Pixar's made with Disney.

A guy I knew from CSSSA is one of the original Picas guys (story editor for Toy Story) and I saw him somewhere around Toy Story 2, when we woked near each other -- Pixar's near Ask Jeeves.

And he looked like death. When he talked about the movies he spoke with such deep bile and hatred I thought he'd melt into a piece of pure evil like that kid's parents in Time Bandits.

Anyway, I want to see what Pixar does after they're free from Disney. See if they make kid's movies for the rest of their career, or actually go for the big league chew. They're pushing through Cars or wahtever it is as fast as they can.

Then we'll see.

haha, jeff called josh anakin :p

my first night in mexico city, i was talking to some guys from chihuahua, and i asked them if they had seen episodo tres. the guy answered me by saying (in spanish): no, i will not see that, the only real ones are the first 3, these new ones are muy malo. so you see, george lucas`s crappiness is known throughout the globe. funny, that.
