Movies I would actually be excited to see.
Ender's Game
(long rumoured to be in preproduction; Orson Scott Card has written a screenplay that incorporates bits from Ender's Shadow as well, Wolgang Peterson rumoured to be directing)
The Hobbit
(Assuming it's Peter Jackson, Ian McKellan, WETA, etc. Supposedly impossible given the rights situation. Who would play Bilbo? Is Ian Holm too old? Who's a good slightly younger Ian Holm?)
Elfquest
(Actually, I hope they never make this. The chances of them making it right are really really small, and I'd hate to see it destroyed any further than the ongoing comics already have.)
Transmetropolitan
(All CG, perhaps? Wouldn't it be fun to see Pixar tackle this material with an R-rating? Or just lots of CG backgrounds, and have Johnny Depp reprise the role.)
The Watchmen
(only if done well, which I think means departing from the original quite a bit but in the right ways.)
The Gap Series
(must be rated R. Could be done as a trilogy.
Game of Thrones
(probably better as an HBO series)
What's on your list?

I haven't really thought it through. But there's a bunch of stuff. The pacing of a long series like that is presumably not right for a two-hour movie. There's an awfully large number of important characters. There's the pirate sequences. And the whole thing has a very 80's feel -- which could be either incorporated or updated.
The wrong way to do it would be to change the ending. Or to make it PG.
Josh, you should make movies.
Yes, this is true. I just need someone else to produce them for me.
Josh, I got you. Just wait till I make millions as a speech pathologist and I'll bankroll all your movies.
SWEET.
