"The hero is not the protagonist in action movies, he's the antagonist. The villain wants to change the world, and the hero just tries to stop him." -John McTiernan, director of Die Hard, in this month's Wired.

He's one of several big-name movie directors who are now apparently making video games instead. Which is fascinating in its own right. But that quote struck me as being interesting and pretty accurate.
