A group blog; a place to share photos, thoughts, stupid shit we find on the internet, whatever. Hopefully we'll get at least one post per day from someone, and not so many posts that it's too overwhelming. Have fun!
I have a question about the rules. Wikipedia mentions an optional rule that an announcement of having lost the game renders all those who heard the announcement immune from losing for 30 minutes, or until the game is forgotten again -- thus preventing the cascade effect. Are we playing with that rule? I think we should.
In which case, I wrote this post during the grace period following Shakescene's loss, and did not lose the game myself.
I think Ms. Lorrimer is cheating. The rules clearly state: "Cheating in The Game is as simple as failing to announce loss of The Game. Some players cheat simply because they have grown tired of the game, and wish to entertain the idea that they can quit. Often they will pretend that they have won instead of lost, or just say that they have quit. At this point, more serious players of The Game may be inclined to give them a gentle reminder."
I don't know. She's not saying that she's quit -- she refuses to acknowledge that she's playing at all. Which is, I suppose, her way of disputing the rule that states, "You are playing the game."
For the sake of my marriage, I'm not going to push this.
See, that's what Mrs. Lorrimer is trying to do. And the fucked up thing is that it's going to work. To completely reject the whole idea of the game from the moment you become aware of the game's existence is to defeat the game. Too late for me.

FUCK.
Lucas, you violated one rule by posting this without a warning that probably everyone does not want to know about The Game.
Which wouldn't have stopped me anyway, but now I know.
I just lost The Game.
The link warns there are spoilers if you keep reading. Nothing was violated. And I had to announce that I lost the game.
You have ruined my life.
Mrs. Lorrimer refuses to acknowledge that she is playing the game at all. Interesting strategy.

She can't not play
"1 To know The Game is to play The Game."
Its like writing 'I am not writing.' You can do it, but its just a big lie.
this game looks dumb. i choose not to participate. is that against the rules? it doesnt matter anyway, cause i'm not playing.
